No one expected anything dramatic on 31 March, 2021, and we got nothing, for the Sussex saga is far from over. We all know that things are happening behind the scenes as the key players smile, take socially distanced walks, and keep a stiff upper lip. There was a time when this was acceptable – when the People knew this was about keeping up appearances, and they accepted it in good faith. The era we find ourselves in is somewhat different, where transparency is not only necessary, but is expected.

We have a faction of society that trusts The Queen to do the right thing (to remove the dukedom and HRH styles), and another faction that are frustrated and angry that The Queen doesn’t appear to recognise that this is a national issue. How does BP deal with this? Leaks to papers doesn’t actually help much because it’s a little too late, and the idea of a leak is to get the story in early to control the narrative. The Valentine Low article got traction because he is a reputable journalist, and the story on the bullying claims was credible. It was also backed up by Low stating if the duo wish to sue them, they have the evidence to prove all that was written was factual. However, was that enough? Today, people don’t want bits of information to pacify them, but expect the whole story – especially when people have been taken advantage of. It remains to be seen how this will be dealt with, and the public expect an investigation with results that favour the People.
This race issue will take years to resolve before it simmers down again, here in the UK at least, and BP didn't think that far ahead mainly because many of the aides are out of touch with the people on the street. Opinion polls from market research isn't always accurate, for people tell you what they want you to think, rather than the truth.
People in the UK are angry that the world thinks they are racist because two people with titles said so, and the establishments that are supposed to represent and protect them have remained silent. Staying silent and planning a course of action is wise, but they should at least indicate they are going to defend the nation. That has not been the case so far, and that is why faith, respect, and loyalties towards The Queen are withering. Even if all the elements in the petition are granted, the damage will take decades to heal. BP can't control that, but they can limit the damage by halting the source. BP and The Queen may have unknowingly contributed to the heightened racial tensions around the world, and they need to make good on their mistakes.

The Sussex situation will not die down or go away, and each day they attack the UK and the RF, it weakens the nation and the position of The Queen. There may come a time when the People say ‘Enough’, and decide to take matters into their own hands. Should that occur, that would be unfortunate for the nation, and may well lead to the demise of the Monarchy. Victoria became the Queen when the popularity of the Monarchy was low, and it took years to gain the trust and respect of the People. Elizabeth II doesn’t have the luxury of time to ‘fail’ and make amends, but perhaps she has taken the stability of her reign for granted? The fine and fragile balance between the People and the Monarchy must be restored, and that means the Monarchy must act in the best interests of the nation without fail– that is if it wishes to survive.
This is a perplexing time where the People seek action, but in the same breath, they hope that action has been enacted behind the scenes already. Even if that has happened, will it be enough to appease the People who have been attacked, and who have waited patiently for Her Majesty to act on their behalf?
Many have said that any announcement would be inappropriate until after Easter, but the removal of Nicola Brentnall as CEO of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust at the end of March seemed to coincide with the notion of ‘action’, but wasn’t that a little too late as well? A very small handful of people appear to be oblivious to the damage she aided, for it can’t be undone, but what it did was make the world aware of the QCT for all the wrong reasons. The People want to support The Queen, but her silence makes it difficult for some to trust her, for patience isn’t infinite. Was the QCT action a silent sign that many missed, or was it one that some have misinterpreted?
Can Parliament pass a law that states that all individuals in the line of secession meet certain criteria? I'm thinking of rules that both the US and Canada have in place for passing on citizenship. My children have dual citizenship, US from being born on US soil and Canadian from me. They cannot pass the Canadian citizenship onto their kids (my grandkids) unless the establish extensive ties to Canada (move there, pay taxes etc.). They are the last Canadians in our family unless they move to Canada and participate in Canadian society. The same applies to my Canadian niece. Her grandmother is American and her mother has American citizenship yet my niece does not hold American citizenship because the ties to the US have been lost (no one currently participates in US society). Both counties want you to be an active member of the country to pas on its citizenship. It seems that a similar idea might work for the line of secession. That is you must be a UK citizen and live and work in the UK.
First off I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter break as much as is possible in our current circumstances and I am pleased to see after looking a couple of times and found the comments closed Harry Markle has decided to give us all another go.I am by my very nature a very political person it was the way I was bought up and I will continue to be so, however I am pleased with myself that I have been able to contribute here and steer clear of it as Our Harry does not want it. I rarely if ever state my views on any site but I took the plunge after luking here for some time and I enjoy it as I know many others I have chatted to do so lets not blow it. Well I for one am beginning to wonder exactly how much HMQ is /has been told about the reality of the situation beyond palace walls in the wider world of HER Commonwealth and here in the UK. I am sure she has been shown the many letters sent in support of her, which it is reported her ladies in waiting are replying to. Some who contribute here may be among them. It is a historical fact that as Queen Victoria entered her final years those around here tempered what they told her, I find myself wondering if those around our currant Queen are doing the same if they are they are doing her and us a great disservice. While I appreciate it is very hard at a few days short of 95 to think long term about the future of family etc, in this situation it has to be done. The ethos which which she was raised to live by is of the 19th century not the 20th and certainly not the 21st. I can find no words swearing or other wise to describe the amoral leech that is her grandson. I feel sick at the thought of their Zooming in on calls to youngsters. Indoctrination and grooming are the words that spring to mind, on impressionable youngsters. It cannot be lost on anyone that they are of a certain age group to be of voting age in 4 years or so. It is also more than sickening that I have just read of plans of a series concerning people from the UK and Commonwealth who have suffered life changing injuries in the service of Q and Country. I am sure someone here will put me right but I seem to recall something in a very similar vain a few years back. My very greatest fear is that the inaction of one very old ill informed and advised stubborn women will lead to not only the destruction of her own family structure but that of the UK, and what would replace it.
