Harold Loses His Appeal, And Gives Another Interview That Attacks The Monarchy
He seems to be begging for his old job back (you know, the one he hated but loved the perks), but Pa won't speak to him
Harold lost his appeal against the Home Office (government). This was pretty much expected, and that’s why his legal team told him to show his face in court in a last ditch attempt to try and sway some sympathy. He claims that he wished someone would have told him he would lose—well, many people in the legal profession did. I think what he meant is that he didn’t know he would have to cough up nearly £2 million in legal fees (to repay the public purse and his own legal fees). He, more than anyone should know that lawyers are not cheap, especially if you’re going to pursue a case for several years. I wonder how many lawyers passed on being asked to represent him, knowing full well that it would be career suicide when the only defence was a subjective opinion of a deluded brainwashed man? In closing, there was no legal basis for Harold’s challenge.
One should also remember this legal challenge began in September 2021, when the late Queen was still on the throne, so Harold was challenging his granny’s government and also his father’s government. How repulsive to do this when his granny was ill and in her last years, and now when his father has cancer. All because of what he (or TW) believes they are entitled to by claiming they aren’t safe and are at risk, and expect the UK taxpayers to fund round the clock protection wherever they are indefinitely.
Later that day, Harold climbed out of his bitter barrel and scraped what was left to deliver a disgruntled interview airing his petty grievances, a barrage of conspiracy theories, and random innuendos and accusations aimed at the British Royal Family, the Monarchy, and the Royal Household. The intended 10 minutes interview led to a 30 minute rant, followed by a scathing and resentful 2 paged statement. The decision of the appeal was announced in court around 14:15, and the BBC released the exclusive interview at 17:00 on 2 May 2025, which was also Princess Charlotte’s 10th birthday.
Buckingham Palace responded with a short statement on the appeal:
All of these issues have been examined repeatedly a meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.
The BBC had the exclusive (just how much did they pay him?) and milked it by plastering it as their headline news that day (2 May 2025), which was quite irritating and pointless considering that the results of the local elections were the real news. Reform gained 677 council seats from the Conservatives (who lost 674), and the Liberal Democrats gained 163 seats and the Greens 49 seats at the expense of Labour who lost 187 seats. While I don’t like to get political, this was actual news and the BBC decided to dedicate the headlines to the Harold interview instead of reporting actual news.
This is news because the two main parties lost local seats, indicating that the people no longer trust either the current Labour government or the opposition (Conservatives). My reason for mentioning the UK government will become apparent, for Harold is now meddling with UK politics and has accused the previous government of being corrupt, and is seeking to approach the current government directly to change the laws because they have not yielded the results he wanted in court.
The BBC later issued an apology for failing to address both sides of the story showing bias towards Harold and the exclusive interview.
Harold’s interview and quotes have dominated the media, but not in the positive way he had hoped for despite claiming to have forgiven (through gritted teeth) the King, William, and Camilla, the Queen, and even the media. The interview had been arranged as part of a damage limitation plan (followed by a statement), but the RF has a poor history of using interviews to air their grievances and to try and put their side of the story in the public domain. Diana’s interview led to a hasty divorce and being stripped of many privileges, and Andrew’s interview made things worse for him. Why did Harold choose to give an interview knowing that he had lost the appeal weeks ago?
First of all, Harold had asked the RF for an apology, an apology for what no one quite knows and even members of the RF are bewildered, although Harold claims ‘they know’. In the interview, through gritted teeth and a scowling face he claimed that he had ‘forgiven them’, naming C3, William and Camilla. There was no humility, but with a slither of hypocrisy, the brainwashed puppet seemed to spit out his rehearsed lines with venomous animosity. No one believed the faux forgiveness, and I doubt he even believed it himself.
However, why is he suddenly claiming to ‘forgive’ them, and keeps pushing the rhetoric that he wanted to have a role in the monarchy (the institution that he and TW despise and loathe) but has been prevented from doing so? The duo still witter on about a half in/half out model that would give them IPP status by representing the Crown, and that would allow them to ‘freelance’ and make money through other business ventures by using their titles.
Then later in the issued statement and in the interview, Harold criticised the Royal Household as being corrupt, and accused aides and members of the RF of trying to prevent him from leaving as a working member of the RF, but then later he accused them of preventing him from being safe by not giving him fully funded 24/7 protection. His statements contradict each other so much it’s clear that he is confused as to what he thinks and what he had been told to think. In his interview he admits people tell him things that he believes and spits them out as his perceived truth.
It’s hard to keep track of what Harold believes and what he has been told to say as they contradict each other too, and just because Harold says something, it doesn’t mean it is accurate or true (often this is what cult members rely on as proof). Don’t be swayed by his claim that he offered to pay for the protection in 2021, and was turned down because the courts have already stated that you cannot pay for a service that is not available (in another interview, Harold admitted he had no money to pay for private protection). You cannot pay for a public service. Events such as festivals and football matches are different because they involve the safety of the public, and the cost is borne by the organisers of the events. Harold and TW shopping in High Street Kensington does not involve any public safety issue.
Does this change of heart (for Harold to beg for his job back on his terms) have anything to do with a lack of funds and the lack of interest from other parties seeking their services?
The USAID funding that helped to fund various Archewell Foundation grants has been effectively closed, and existing grants may have been cancelled. Those grants would have also have assisted in paying staff and expenses within the foundation/charity.
Has BetterUp slimmed down Harold’s role as he didn’t appear at the recent summit (1-3 April 2025)? Given that many companies have had to lay off staff and cut costs, Harold’s role is really surplus to requirements, so has he been reduced to an ambassador who gets expenses only? No pay, no show?
Gotham Artists recently took down Harold’s page that advertised his services. Does anyone really want to pay $500-750k for Harold to regurgitate his word salad spiel for 15-20 minutes?
At the Living Legends of Aviation awards, Harold appeared to have stayed for the minimum length of time, having again not purchased a table or a seat.
While the duo attended the TIME 100 summit, one wonders if the gig was paid for, as in they paid TIME for the speaking slot as they weren’t invited to the gala evening, claiming they had to dash back to see the child known as Archie potentially lose his first tooth (the sick children excuse has already been used twice this year for a quick exit)!
The duo have not had any other major company to sponsor them after Spotify ended their contract.
The majority of people see Harold’s groaning and whining as disrespectful to the courts and to C3, as a monarch and as a father. Harold has exclaimed that his father won’t speak to him, but if he was looking for pity then he was looking in the wrong place. In fact, the confirmation of C3 not speaking to The Overseas Son (TOS) shows that C3’s aides are protecting him (like the late Queen’s aides did), and that they also know that Harold cannot be trusted as he has twisted words in private conversations and leaked them to the press and has used them as content for books that have disparaged the monarchy and members of the RF.
While everyone has an opinion on Harold and his latest rant/ interview, most of the cult supporters cling to what he says as the truth, but it is in fact Harold’s truth which is not always factual and can be considered misinformation. In the end, Harold admits this is a family dispute, and he is publicly airing his own dirty laundry in an attempt to gain public sympathy.
Many consider Harold’s comment that he doesn’t know how long his father will live as disrespectful and in poor taste. Talking about anyone who is ill or who is dying in a flippant manner and to make them look like the villain is never a good look, and it appeared that way to make out that the RF need to accept his poisoned olive branch and that they are the problem and not him or TW.
Soaked in bitter hypocrisy, spewing random conspiracy theories and unsubstantiated accusations and innuendos, Harold comes across as spiteful, angry, resentful and deflated in the interview. He also believed that his status and titles would give him preferential treatment in the courts because previous judges had been lenient (Warby) due to possible bias because of the ducal titles. When you challenge your father’s government in a petty rant to try and get fully funded security because that’s what you think you are entitled to, then this is the result and that means he must reimburse the public purse for having to fund this petty challenge.
Status ~ Harold claims that his status has not changed and that he is entitled to have the same level of protection that he has always had. This is untrue, as his status changed as spare to the heir when George was born. A new line was then created and Harold was downgraded. Anne, Andrew, and Edward were all the late Queen’s children, and once William was born their statuses changed, and they no longer had or have full-time protection. If Harold wants more protection, then he will have to pay for it just as other members of the RF in a private capacity.
Security ~ He claims he is at risk in the UK, and is putting himself at risk each time he comes to the UK, but will take the risk for the charities he supports. By that one assumes he means his yearly visit to the WellChild awards and Scotty’s Little Soldiers, and various Invictus Games events that tie in with travel to other events. The truth is that he is provided a bespoke and high level of security as long as he gives 30 days notice for RAVEC to make an assessment and to organise the arrangements. Recently, it was reported he visited a friend in London (May 2024) and they had a Deliveroo order delivered to the house which is considered high risk given that you do not know who the delivery driver is.
He claims that he can’t bring his family (wife and invisible children) to the UK as it’s too dangerous. There is nothing to substantiate that claim except Harold’s belief.
Another claim Harold makes is that those who carry out public service get a lifetime of security, and he compared himself to them. Only former Prime Ministers get lifetime security because they know state secrets and are vulnerable to being kidnapped, but deputy PMs don’t and nor do US Vice-Presidents either. Harold only worked as a full-time member of the RF from 2016-2020, when he left the army in 2015 and then took a year out. So, technically, he only worked as a full time member of the RF for 4 years, and his claim has no bearing on elected public servants who are privy to confidential information which is why they need protection.
Harold lost the appeal as there was no legal basis to challenge the RAVEC decisions. He then claimed he had been ‘stitched up’ because someone told him that ("good old fashioned establishment stitch up"), and that the Royal Household had influenced the courts. This is another baseless accusation that attacks the Royal Household and the judicial system.
Harold claims he hasn’t had a risk assessment carried out since 2020 (he mentions it again and says 2019), but as he left the UK and ceased to be a working member of the RF, no assessment was necessary. He then claimed (with nothing to substantiate the claim) that he was the member of the RF who was at the highest at risk in 2020. He has paid for private security since then and it has proved more than adequate, and his father helped pay for some security during the transition period.
Harold claimed that the removal of his security in the UK (which it was not but he received a reduced level of security) also meant it was a signal to other countries not to provide security for him. He claims this was communicated to other governments, which was highly unlikely as when the Harkles visited Columbia and Nigeria, some were under the impression that it was a royal visit rather than a private visit where the duo used their titles. No country is obliged to offer protection for foreign royalty when they are not on an official visit even if they are full time working members of the RF.
Why do the Harkles need more security when their private security serves their needs? The IPP status provides immunity against prosecution for some criminal acts, and in the past, the Harkle have used free security as servants to do coffee runs and to other errands for them.
Harold says he wants a reconciliation, but on one hand he claims to forgive members of the RF (C3, William and Camilla), but on the other hand he admits that some members of the family may not ever forgive him. Therefore, he admits he has done things that he needs to apologise for, but makes no indication that he has any intention of apologising.
He claims he wants to stop fighting. It was he who started the fighting or rather TW did, and it is he who has continued to fight and BP have at times defended themselves (poorly IMHO), and other times they have remained silent. Why is Harold fighting? Because he has made demands that are unacceptable and unreasonable, and he is basically throwing a temper tantrum to get what he wants. The late Queen stated there is no half in and half out, and once you are no longer a full-time working member of the RF, then you longer represent the Crown and no longer have a full security detail that came with the role.
Harold states that he disapproves of members of the Royal Household sitting on the RAVEC board, but that isn’t for him to decide. In fact, they would represent members of the RF to ensure they get the best protection detail and represent the monarch. In the past he has accused the late Queen’s Private Secretary (Sir Edward Young) of campaigning against him, and also the King’s Private Secretary (Sir Clive Alderton) of the same, and he delivered this in a disparaging tone. These aides have provided counsel and advice to the monarch in many areas and are trusted, but the simple fact is that they didn’t give him what he demanded means that they are the baddies in his book!
There is an unsubstantiated claim that the previous government who made the RAVEC decision were ‘corrupt’ and were to blame, and that with the new government he expected a different result. He then states that he will approach the Prime Minister (Starmer) and the Home Secretary (Cooper) directly to urge them to ‘review’ how RAVEC operates, which is another way of saying that they need to change the law to suit him.
Is Harold participating in political lobbying by trying to influence politicians in the government? Members of the RF are forbidden to lobby the government as MPs have sworn an oath to the King, whose government it is.
A source has claimed that Harold made a private and unofficial visit to see the Prime Minister before he attended court to hear his appeal against the Home Office in April 2025. If such a meeting did take place, then the Prime Minister should have declared this to The Liaison Committee or The Privileges Committee. The alleged content of the meeting (if true) may have been considered as treasonous and thus, the elected public servant would have a duty to report the contents of such a meeting, no matter how ludicrous the discussion may have appeared at the time. Any communications Harry has had with the Home Secretary or Prime Minister should be declared to the House of Commons, but who will ensure the correct procedures have been followed?
Much has been said of the admission that C3 won’t speak to Harold. This actually makes C3 look like a stronger monarch by refusing to engage with one who has attacked the family and the monarchy, and who has been dismissive and rude in public about his wife. No one can blame C3 for not wishing to speak to TOS when all he would do is cause more stress and anxiety which would not be good for his health. There is also the fact that Harold might try to record conversations and to use that against his father, and we have seen him make comments in interviews and to twist them out of context to play the victim (such as the alleged racist comment during the Oprah interview where recollections may vary). There is also the issue that the King must remain neutral in legal cases when it is his government that is being challenged by his son.
When asked if C3 should step in regarding the issue of security, he says that C3 should step aside and let others sort things out, but that’s exactly what he has done and which is why there are independent boards. The insinuation is that C3 has interfered by way of his Private Secretary, again, another unsubstantiated accusation and claim.
Harold has tried to portray himself as the victim, but claims on the other hand that he is the happiest he has been after being free from being a member of the RF. The statement that was issued appeared to have been written by lawyers, and again is full of subjective beliefs and opinions that are not necessarily factual.
The statement looks like another rant of a sore loser who cannot accept facts as they stand. He was told if he stepped down as a working member of the RF then he would receive a reduced level of security, but he (and TW) did not want to accept this and pushed for the same security detail to be continued. Much of this is a consequence of the RF and BP for covering up for the duo and letting them get away with other dubious acts, in that they believe they can still get away with things (such as fibbing in court about providing material for Finding Freedom and being in contact with the authors). The failure to nip things in the bud back in 2018 has led to this sorry state of affairs, and even the sugar Sussex friendly media have had to admit that the motorway pile up of an interview has backfired on Harold.
The interview and statement appeared to be part of the PR plan, where TW earlier in the week sighed and cried during her ‘Prove it’ podcast interview with new bestie Jamie Kern Lima. The latter shared a photo of TW’s gift to her with a compliment slip from TW using ‘HRH The Duchess of Sussex’. If she was a real friend, then surely a handwritten note would have been more appropriate? It looks as if TW is pushing the boundaries again, and while her PR claims it was private use and that made it okay, they seem to be making up the rules to suit them.
Put simply, the HRH style was not to be used full stop after March 2020, once they ceased to be working members of the RF. Again, Harold seems to make up rules too, saying he didn’t leave the RF until 2021. No, he left in 2020 on his freedom flight, and the late Queen left the door open for them for a year to return if they chose to. In 2021 the honorary titles that had been suspended were formally returned to the Crown, and the suspended royal patronages were returned to be reallocated. Perhaps it’s time for C3 to formally restrict the use of all of Harold’s titles that both he and TW are clearly monetising and abusing?
Harold seems to have begrudgingly accepted this loss, and is unlikely to pursue this at the Supreme Court ( they hear a small number of cases and only those in the public interest and this case would not qualify), as it is likely to be rejected and would double the legal costs as they stand. One hopes that Harold and TW don’t try and pull any further fake stunts (like the NYC paparazzi chase, and the Kew Gardens paparazzi chase), and keep to themselves in their Montecito mansion, barefoot and with their backs to the rest of the world for good. His motorway pile up of an interview has not won him any sympathy as planned, and people have had enough of the Harkles abusing their titles and pushing the boundaries with their fake royal tours. Time for them to be Harry and Meghan Windsor, and to live the life of privacy they claim to have been seeking.
