‘Carry On with the Harkles’, continues with a summer special now that some Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. Another one bites the dust as Archewell loses another member of staff—it seems that Toya Holness doesn’t think she would look good in orange. How many others are planning an exit strategy or are on garden leave as they adjust their LinkedIn profiles?
Then there was the farce played out at the Santa Barbara Polo, where TW thought she was filming ‘Pretty Woman’, complete with an American tan (she is American and was in America, but that isn’t quite what I meant…) looking over dressed and nowhere to go. There were squabbles and confusion on the makeshift podium that looked like a Laurel and Hardy sketch, and the next day Thomas Markle found someone to film him being wheeled into hospital, sold it to Backgrid, and eventually TMZ.
The next posed appearance was Harry dawdling on a bike ride with an old pal, Charlie, pausing for the paparazzi to show that Harry is really happy in California. Looking at the photos of him, he looked happier when he claimed he was miserable in the UK. The worst was to come when TW showed up at Uvalde in Texas on Thursday 26 May, less than 48 hours after the shooting incident where 19 children and 2 teachers were gunned down. We all know that it was for publicity, and it was another bandwagon to jump on and that the Sussex PR would deny this and plant stories to put out the message that TW did not bring any photographers with her. She didn’t really need to as she could have paid some to be there already! The act was low, disrespectful, and for heaven’s sake it is is an active crime scene where the authorities are still piecing together what happened.
The Los Padres team were out playing again in Santa Barbara on 22 May, and it appeared that the Sussex duo claimed they were hosting the polo, where it was more than likely they were selling spots in their hospitality tent to raise funds and access to them both. Of course this is footage for Netflix, but it was like a Carry On sketch, where the makeshift podium was pulled by an old tractor and placed in the middle of a field that the paparazzi kindly photographed. One such photographer appeared to Thomas Markle’s ‘remarkable friend’, Karl Larsen. His pal got to see Harry in person before he did!
TW hobbled around in stilettos in a field, wearing an over the top outfit of culottes and a ‘Pretty Woman’ blouse, and hat to match. For an emotional support pet, she dragged along Abigail Spencer who wore a similar outfit, yet TW’s face seemed a different shade to her legs, and her knees were a different colour than her ankles and feet—a self-tan job gone wrong! Still, once on the podium that is where the cringeworthy skit really began, where she kissed Harry on the lips and then proceeded to fuss over him, wiping his mouth (probably needed some sanitiser) and pawed him as she didn’t know what else to do. It was like a mother making sure the toddler had washed behind his ears and wiped his mouth before going to school.
A bit of awkward moving around ensued as Nacho took control or tried to, where TW was pushed out of the way as the trophy was lifted. Harry tried to take the individual prize from one of his team mates who refused to let go, then TW tried, and he resisted. Both if the Sussexes seem to be control freaks, and there was an haphazard pose with the trophy, where TW didn’t take off her sunglasses (which was rude) and who failed to stand to one side which is the done thing when you present an award. It was painful to watch, but amusing to watch amateurs trying to look slick and sophisticated.
I will touch briefly on TW’s visit in Texas because this is a sensitive story as lives have been lost, and they should be the focus of the event, and not TW’s appearance and faux attempt to look like a volunteer. Many believed it was inappropriate, and reports from eye-witnesses state that she was not welcomed, and that her visit was announced and that the area was cleared for her. Reports also claim that she tried to visit the school, but was told to ‘go away’, and any sensible person would know that you cannot enter an active crime scene, but this was for Netflix of course.
The images were sold to OK! before they have been taken apparently, where video footage shows TW walking up and down, and pausing and slowly posing to get some good clear images. Footage also shows cameras inches from her, yet security did nothing and she didn’t ask them to stand back. Press who were there have given accounts of what happened, and that TW did have an entourage with her that included photographers that kept their distance (they saw them arrive and leave at the same time) as the story the Sussex PR were going to put out is that she didn’t bring any photographers. The sugarette site, Buzz Feed was keen to put forward this series of events for TW, down to how many sandwiches she donated to the blood drive. Was that important information for this tragedy, or good PR for TW to appear as if she was donating again?
Last night, a member of staff at the Herby Ham Activity Centre was given permission to talk to the press, where TW claimed that she didn’t care if anyone knew she had visited or not. The ‘stunt’ seems to have backfired because the majority of people saw it as disrespectful as it was too soon as the town was in mourning. She could have worn a mask while visiting the makeshift memorial (others wore them) and sunglasses and no one would have recognised her if they cared. The visit was for publicity, as the images were shared immediately after the visit, and all the photographers seemed to be prepared for her as well.
Texas is over 1,500 miles away, yet TW made the journey but did not appear to have visited her sick father who was in a hospital in the same state. How can she claim empathy when she makes time for strangers because it is good PR, but has no time or thought for sick family members? The cult were quick to defend her and attack a sick man, despite his gaining evidence of his illness he has not been in good health for more than a decade.
The Sussex PR made a statement that she was visiting in a private capacity—what other capacity was there? She is a private citizen, has no ties to the community and she represents no one—not the Royal Family, and not the UK. That is another reason why the titles must be stripped—if they are gone then there can be no confusion or misrepresentation that is causing embarrassment and damage to the UK and RF, simply because TW wants some PR attention.
She could have sent flowers to all the crosses and made a silent donation as genuine people do. From the outset, the visit looked as if it was planned with precision, with the Archewell team deciding which cross TW would visit and lay flowers at, and who to contact at the blood drive. Then all you needed was to hire some photographers who would be there, and who would sell the images to the highest bidder, and wham-bam—some hands free PR.
The media there are doing an important job of allowing the families to honour their children who were murdered so that they will not be forgotten, and to hold the authorities to account and to discover why there were failures to act when the incident took place. They do not need TW arriving to create some Netflix footage to convince the world that she is a humanitarian. No one needs TW at all. If they turn up to events for the Platinum Jubilee, they should not expect a warm welcome (but they know that already). The Queen might think it is acceptable to turn a blind eye to the atrocious and despicable behaviour displayed by the Sussexes (and the entire world knows this), but the People do not, and many are taking the free extra holiday, but they won’t be celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee as it was intended for.
